Since 2005, the various Corporate Reading Rally committees have brought Reading Rally to the LCAM experience. In 2005, Academy of Leadership Alumni participants were invited to visit a local Boys & Girls Club in Salt Lake City where a new reading room had been decorated and stocked by EWI representatives and firms. Last year in Houston the Corporate Reading Rally Committee created a unique and engaging literacy event for Academy of Leadership participants and a local second grade class.
This year the committee is once again partnering with a local elementary class to promote literacy. Students from Mrs. Patterson’s second grade class at Rancho Mirage Elementary School in Palm Springs will be invited to attend our Academy of Leadership luncheon on Thursday, September 18, 2008. If you are not attending an Academy module, you will have the opportunity to purchase individual event tickets when registering for LCAM.
We are inviting all EWI member firms, representatives and Chapters to partner with us to create a unique opportunity to make an impact on literacy in Palm Springs.
Please consider seeking support from your member firm, Chapter and/or a personal contribution. Please see the “Reading Rally Partnership Levels” which outline the various opportunities available. All contributors will be recognized at the Scholarship and Literacy Luncheon on Saturday, September 20, 2008 in Palm Springs. This is a great way to gain publicity for your firm and Chapter as the Reading Rally often attracts television and newspaper coverage. Please refer to the enclosed publicity articles about our Corporate Reading Rally events in 2005, 2006 and 2007.
